Family: Fabaceae Scientific name: Albizia lebbeck Description: Plant Form: Deciduous tree. Size: Up to 30 m tall. Stem: Smooth grey bark maturing to rough, corky and brownish-grey. Young stems are more green. Leaves: 2-6 cm long in pairs each with 2-11 pairs of leaflets. Flowers: Large clusters up to 6 cm long. Yellowish- green with pleasant fragrance. With fluffy appearance. Fruit and Seeds: Large leathery to papery and straw to brown coloured pods, 12-35 cm long, without constrictions, and containing 3-12 brown flat seeds. Habitat: Woodlands, riparian areas, hillsides.
